Birkenhead Point Premium Outlet Centre has partnered with Drummoyne Water Polo Club as Major Sponsors for their 2011 Junior Development Program.
Birkenhead Point Marketing Manager Kim Assim said the sponsorship is a great way to give back to the local community by supporting the younger generation.
“As our centre is within walking distance to the Drummoyne Pool many members of the Water Polo Club and their families regularly visit our centre to do their groceries or to pick up a bargain at one of our premium outlet stores,” she said.
“As the centre continues to grow we are continually working to develop and expand our offer to the local community,” she said.
“It seemed like an ideal way to show our support for the children in our local community and through the sponsorship we can now watch the juniors grow and develop their skills in the pool,” she said.
“We are excited about the new partnership and are proud to be working closely with such a successful club.”
President of the Drummoyne Water Polo Club Michael Hahn said “the Drummoyne Junior Development Program has been running since 1999 and has consistently provided children with a fun and safe environment with over 1,000 boys and girls aged 8-12 introduced to water polo via this program.”
“The junior development program has been a great introduction for boys and girls looking to start playing water polo in the Sydney Metropolitan competition with many former participants going on to play representative water polo, for NSW and Australia and the Drummoyne Devils who compete in the Australian National League that gets underway this Sunday at Drummoyne pool,” he said.
“It’s great that Birkenhead Point has chosen to thrown their support behind junior water polo. Many of the parents involved in our Club will relish the opportunity to spend more time away from pool deck in the comfort of the many premium outlets available at Birkenhead Point.”
