It is the players responsibility to check with match officials if they have been excluded for the game other than three major fouls. It is NOT the referees responsibility to tell the player.
When a player is excluded for the remainder of the match it is to be expected that the Referee will submit a report to NSW Water Polo (NSWWPI). This is done on the back of the original of game card which is taken by the home team. The Referee also submits an additional written report to NSWWPI within 48 hours. It is the responsibility of the player’s Manager/Coach to confirm with the Referee the reason for the exclusion & the nature of the charge & inform the player. I would also urge the team manager to get a copy of the written report on the game card or ask the home team to send you a copy. The player either accepts the decision or appeals the charge. If the charge is not contested the following default suspensions apply:
| Charge |

2nd Offence |
3rd Offence |
Misconduct – Disrespect/ Disobedience |
Grade 1 |
No Penalty |

If the player decides to appeal, the process is outlined under Clause 24 “Judiciary Provisions” of NSW water polo Inc Rules. If the charge is upheld the level of suspensions are increased as per Rule 24.2.1.3.
A copy of all the Rules are available on the NSWWPI website.
